So I've been wondering, how did you all first heard about the Starfy series and got into it.  For me, I first saw Starfy in a small screenshot in an old Game Informers magazine(of all things...xDDD) in the Top 10 Sales chart page from 2003. It had the first Densetsu no Stafy game listed on the Japan sales. I thought it was Twink in Paper Mario at first! xDDD Then I saw Starfy in a poster in Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga later on and I eventually saw Starfy as a rare enemy in Super Princess Peach at 2006. And finally one day when I went to an anime convention around late 2006 or early 2007, I saw Densetsu no Stafy 4 and I bought it. I got addicted to it and completed it 100%.  Then I watched many videos of the other Starfy games on Youtube and really wanted to play them someday. And that's how I got into the series myself. I was happy to see Starfy & Starly as trophies in Super Smash Bros Brawl and I was excited for Legendary Starfy being announced for the US(I got it on launch in 2009 and completed it 100%). I was hoping for the other 4 Starfy games to come out in English since I read that Nintendo Power magazine with the Hitoshi Yamagami interview, but it never did.  So I finally imported the third Starfy game(because of Wario and Starly's introduction) last September and really enjoyed it! I also did a second playthrough of the fourth game and the fifth game after I completed the third game 100%. Because I felt like doing a small Starfy playthrough marathon.  I still don't have the first two Starfy games, but I'll eventually get them someday.  |

I got the Legendary Starfy, 100%ed it and enjoyed it, and heard about the 4 other games which were better than it and got them.

I saw a commercial for The Legendary Starfy sometime I forgot when and I saw the cameo of Starfy in MLSS in 2014/5. Then Kyu made this forum.
Although I never really played a Starfy before

As for myself I dont exactly know how I got into the series. I found out about it in 2010 (i think) thakkd to the fact that the wiki was affilated eith Bulbapediam i didnt get into th4 series until 2014 or so

I found out about this while browsing through the list of Nintendo franchises on Wikipedia. Months later, I went to a the Starfy Wiki to learn more about it. I also wanted to make a subreddit for it. Then, I joined this forum.

Sounds great Simpson. Long term Starfy fan then huh. : D The Legendary Starfy was the first Legendary Starfy game that I played too leslie. So the wiki taught you about Starfy. ^w^ The wiki began in May 2009 on Wikia but was forked to starfywiki.org in January 2011. We first became members in April 2011, so if you learned about it from the affiliate links every NIWA wiki have on it must have been then or later. I unfortunately cannot remember when I first learned about Starfy. I really got into the series when I got The Legendary Starfy for my birthday in February 2011. I had helped out the wiki earlier and wanted to venture even deeper into the series. A glitch in Starfy 1 and the Wikia wiki originally inspired me to learn. The series had a great charm to it, so I helped them out, then I became a regular editor of the wiki and met various friends like The Forgotten Beast, Kage12, Star Light, BattleFranky, Starphoria. My interest started as mild but my interest has really grown on me ever since. Later I met Kyubi and she, Rainvainz, goldmaster and his friends, me, and everyone else helped start this forum. ^_^ |

While writing this post, I was listening to this song, even though I am not quite a Star Wars fan: clyp.it/zd3f2cgeThis isn't just about how I got into Starfy, but video games as well. First, Nintendo became very popular and made me jump in the bandwagon. Second, games like Star Fox, Wave Race 64 and especially Super Smash Bros. 64 made me add them to their favorites. Along the way, I encountered Ness from MOTHER 2 / EarthBound and the official Japanese Nintendo website and saw a collection of games I've never heard of before, which made me want to know more. That's including Densetsu no Stafy, the first game and its sequels. And unfortunately, SSBB made me stuck in night-shifting waiting for the latest updates to the Smash Dojo website and I noticed Starfy became an Assist Trophy. Along with that, the inclusion of 3RD-Party characters, my parents telling me to quit buying and playing video games and consoles, and my growing mind made me lose interest in Nintendo some (but not all). There are too many Mario spinoffs and other similar titles. After beating the 5th Starfy in its Japanese version, I refused to play through the English counterpart. Nowadays, after my father worried about me very badly and put me on medications because of my mid-functioning Asperger's syndrome, it made me too afraid to play video games and become productive. To keep my interest in video games active, I packed nearly 128 GB of mostly video game soundtracks to my phone and do walking meditation with it. I tried to be a pro gamer until I encountered someone who dances like crazy in SSBM in a now closed used game store, and became a research gamer. MUGEN also sometimes keeps my interest in video games active thanks to the inclusion of making hilarious and interesting crossovers. |

Awww. I'm sorry to hear about your past Parrothead, must have been very stressful.  *hug* I am glad that walking around playing the game music that you enjoy has worked out for you, and you've found strength in being a research gamer, making crossovers in MUGEN. Focus on those positives. Don't worry that you felt you weren't being productive, you are loved; and any activity you enjoy such as that walking meditation is valuable, or sometimes it's just important to take things slow, relax, so you can rest and recover. |

I don't know, I found out about Stafy/Starfy by playing SSBB, and a few years later I found out it was a platformer like Kirby, which I loved, and purchased the first game. However, I got stuck at the beginning of the ice world, and I put it down for a very long time. About a week or two ago, I started playing it again for no reason whatsoever, and loved it. It's currently the only Starfy game I own, but I'm possibly getting two and three soon.

Some people like me regard 2 as the best in the series, while others regard 3 as the best.

If I do manage to get them, I'm getting both at once, so lucky me. I'm fine with 1 for now though. I wonder how I found out Starfy was a platformer.

I don't know, I found out about Stafy/Starfy by playing SSBB, and a few years later I found out it was a platformer like Kirby, which I loved, and purchased the first game. However, I got stuck at the beginning of the ice world, and I put it down for a very long time. About a week or two ago, I started playing it again for no reason whatsoever, and loved it. It's currently the only Starfy game I own, but I'm possibly getting two and three soon. Cool. I guess it may have actually been the movie poster in Yoshi Theater in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga that made me first aware of Starfy. I see. I think that Sea of Ice can feel like a maze, and I know of someone who also got stuck there. I love Starfy 1 in that it starts short but fun, yet later on you get a lot of extra things to do after you beat the game. |
