NOTE: Mark your spoilers!
or you're going to have a bad time.
(I don't think there are spoiler tags on this website, but the best you can do is probably color your spoilers white so it blends in with the background and people have to highlight it. Like this!)
Anyway, for those who don't know - Undertale is an RPG game where you can either kill or spare monsters. The actions you chose will change how the game later plays as well as how characters react to you. For example, if you do genocide (Kill literally EVERYONE) some people will get scared and hide from you rather than managing puzzles or something.
My recommended order for playing the game; Neutral -> Pacifist -> Genocide. Do NOT do genocide first. The other times you've played the game actually affects your later playthroughs. Other than that there isn't much I can say about the game without spoiling the game too much. This game is heavily story based!
I've finished both Neutral and Pacifist, currently running through genocide. GENOCIDE AND PACIFIST SPOILERS:
Originally I thought that since your 'LOVE' doesn't increase on Pacifist, it made Pacifist the hardest. I was right that it's harder than Neutral, and when I started Genocide I was thinking the same for a while. Papyrus and Toriel died one hit. Undyne the Undying... she made me completely rethink that. Her alone killed me more times than I have in Pacifist and Neutral combined. I wasn't keeping track of how many times I lost but well in the double digits. Little by little, I get closer to defeating her though.

- Pacifist is when everyone lives. Seriously, nobody dies at all. Surprisingly unheard of in games. Just spare every monster you encounter and you'll be fine.
- Neutral is when you kill and spare whomever you wish. The ending for this will change depending on who you kill and don't.
- Genocide is when everyone dies. Not just everyone you encounter, but you have to hunt down every monster in each area until there's none left. In this one you're technically the villain. The ones who fight you are trying to stop your mass murder.
