So I got Planet Robobot.
My new favorite Copy Ability in the entire series is ESP. The teleportation has saved me numerous times. Poison is a close second, and it seems superior to Water because of the damage residue that it leaves behind. Doctor is the hardest to master. Doctor's best move is Science Lab, which gives a random potion. There is a rare chance to get a green potion that heals yourself.
Robobot Armor is one of my favorite gimmicks in the series. It is so good that it makes Super Abilities and Hypernova seem bland. It just feels so much more involved than the Super Abilities and Hypernova. Only ability mixing from Kirby 64 and Animal Friends could be possibly better.
There are a lot of references to previous Kirby games. They are in the music, boss descriptions, etc.
- Holo Defense API (2.0 references Pix, the Rock Star boss from Kirby 64, IIRC). There are holograms of Sphere Doomers, Ice Dragon, Coily Rattler, and Kracko. These reference Kirby's Dream Land, Kirby's Dream Land 2, Return to Dream Land, Super Star, and Triple Deluxe.
- Galacta Knight has returned in Meta Knightmare Returns mode and True Arena. Dark Matter and Queen Sectonia clones are present in those modes as well.
- There is an easter egg of two Waddle Dees playing Kirby's Adventure in Stage 6-8. You can also hear the title screen theme of Kirby's Adventure and Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land when you enter the moon in the screen at the end of the level that is actually a room in disguise.
- Music from previous Kirby games is present as well.
- The lore of the series has deepened thanks to Planet Robobot. It is a possibility the HR-E, HR-H, HR-D3, and Metal General may have been manufactured by Haltmann. The H could stand for "Haltmann". The "Security Force" miniboss is very similar to Metal General.
- When Queen Sectonia is defeated, her original form may have been revealed. It is the same species as Taranza's.
