Super Princess Peach similarities and references

Yeah. I enjoyed that little detail. It was great.

Each world has three new levels after beating the game (similar to Starfy 2 and 3 having new levels).

Music scores and certain puzzle pieces are available before completing the game. New puzzle pieces and minigame levels are available in the extra levels.

You do not need to collect them all but if you have passed every level of every mini-game, collected every puzzle piece, completed the Glossary and have every music piece, it unlocks a feature called Endless Vibe in the Bonus section that allows the Vibe Gauge to never fall.

The regular levels have hidden toads. It is possible to miss them during the first play (which means you cannot move on to the post-game content), and collecting them all unlocks Stage 8-6 (the Bowser fight) and allows the opportunity for the credits to play after beating Bowser.

Some other things I view as similarities are:

Akio Imai and Azusa Tajima worked together as directors of this game. They worked together as directors of Densetsu no Starfy 2 and Densetsu no Starfy 3 too. Later,  Azusa Tajima became the sole director of Densetsu no Starfy 4.

"Bonus" is called (おまけ, omake) in Japanese. This is the same name as a mode in Densetsu no Starfy 1.

Super Princess Peach has a minigame menu like every Legendary Starfy game except Densetsu no Starfy 4 (although many games have minigames).

When there is a hidden item on a map, Princess Peach looks surprised, similarly to how Moe's Sniffer activates wherever there is treasure or pearls nearby.

There are giant Thwomp enemies in Bowser's Villa (which has a name that is actually similar to Lobber's Villa from Densetsu no Starfy 4) that send Princess Peach back to the room if they Peach does not mimic the actions on statues. I feel this is a similar idea to other immortal background enemies in the Starfy series that must be avoided, such as Porisurumen, Imadame, Shinigami (the former two must not see Starfy or Starly, the latter must be pushed to the back of the background).

The action matching is a theme in Densetsu no Starfy 2 and Densetsu no Starfy 4 (did any of the other Legendary Starfy games have ability matching?) too.




The boss "Hoo" is an owl who reminds me of King Owlrun from Densetsu no Starfy 4.




I compare finding the toads hidden on the levels to how in Densetsu no Starfy maps were filled with multiple treasures (though this similarity may not be that strong).

I personally feel that Perry looks rather like Starfy. They are both yellow happy characters with red cheeks.


Indeed, there is that too. I love the hidden models and panoramas, and I'm curious about the ninja ones. They personally reminded me of the game Mysterious Murasame Castle but I am unsure if those ninjas were used in any existing game.

In addition to models, code for the unused Koopalings in the Japanese version of Super Princess Peach can be found in Densetsu no Stafy 4 as well.

There are also blocks in Densetsu no Starfy 4's code that look like they may be from Super Princess Peach. They are a beige straight face block and beige triangle blocks like the ones used to run up walls in Super Mario World.

I felt the same, although I played Super Princess Peach after beating Starfy games, so I may have been expecting some similarities.
